Computer Facilities

The CAD facility has been running since 1990 and functions transparently throughout the offices encompassing architectural drawing production, project programming, resourcing and management, office administration, project schedules, specifications, presentation, publishing and promotional projects.

We use a platform combination of Mac and PC which currently serves 40 work stations. This has been extended by further work stations running AutoCAD. The system runs full 3D and 2D co-ordinated software, and is supplemented by Desktop Publishing for both architectural and administrative use. Our system enables the Practice to readily exchange information between offices and with other users within the industry such as design team consultants, product manufacturers and sub contractors, without language format problems.

Personnel within the Practice are also conversant in the major alternative systems such as GDS and AutoCAD. The system enables the Practice to analyse, plan, integrate and carefully monitor time and resources within the project model, as well as complement our recognized Practice methods.

NBS

The National Building Specification forms part of our office computer facility, enabling us to quickly prepare both preliminary and detailed specifications tailored to individual projects.
