Office Accomodation on the Waterside
Waterside Business Park is a new £8m development at Swansea Enterprise park which consists of two phases of flexible office accommodation covering approximately 62,000 sq. ft on a 3.5 acre site.
Powell Dobson Partnership, the novated Architects on this Design and Build contract, with Amey Construction Ltd, has worked with the client, Teamtry, for several years developing options for this site. On completion of successful negotiations with the WDA and the City and County of Swansea the opportunity for a Customer Service Centre and Call Centre was eventually created.
The development consists of an L-shaped building, designed to follow the contours of the lake which it overlooks. The two storey building has two wings which provide open flexible accommodation. These are linked by the core of the building which consists of the reception area, the feature staircase, meeting rooms, toilets and plant rooms. There is a generous amount of car parking spaces with the disabled spaces adjacent to the building entrance. Also there are motor- cycle and cycle parking spaces.
The building is traditionally constructed with external walls of facing brickwork, colour finished aluminium windows and artificial slate roof tiles. The main entrance is formed by feature glazing panels and doors whilst the secondary entrances and fire exists are housed in projecting pods with extended roof over.
The site will be completed with high quality landscaping which will create an ideal location and environment for Customer Service Centre operators and call Centre operators alike.
In addition, talks are continuing with the developer, Teamtry Ltd, over the commencement of Phase 2 which would see a further 25,000 sq. ft of accommodation completed on the lakeside site. |
